Peace at LastMy story is one of Al-Anon. I go back to my own youth and admit I drank
too much as a teenager. But, I never liked the taste much so I never
pursued drinking. I married in the mid-‘70s and my husband and I smoked
more than our share of pot. I liked it and felt I had control when I
was high. What I had no control over, however, was a cheating husband.
It ended when he brought his girlfriend into my home, my bed, while I
was still in the house! Needless to say, I left!

Saved By a Cat
When I got
to high school, I was self-conscious, had braces, didn’t make friends
easily...then on my 16th B-Day I discovered what all the fuss about the drink
was. Had my first drink(s), became brave, outgoing, "fun" -- and
drunk. Liked it so much that I became a regular at the military base bars
nearby, drinking and dancing until closing.
